Romantic Master Bedroom

I have to tell you that I love my bedroom. It is the perfect size. Not too big & not too small. It is the room in my house that I spend a lot of time in. It is warm in the winter & cool in the summer. It is comfortable. My husband & I watch tv in there, I blog, design kitchens & fold laundry in there too. I know, I know, all the experts say your room shouldn't be for doing all those things, it should be your sanctuary. Despite all the activities that I do in my room, it is still my sanctuary.

When I decided on chocolate brown for the paint color, I was a little afraid that the dark color would make my master bedroom look smaller. After it was painted, I was pleasantly surprised that it actually made the room look larger.

I didn't have matching nightstands up until this year. One of those round wobbly tables that you cover with a table cloth and a small bookcase was previously on either side of the bed. I found the mirrored nightstands one day at TJ Maxx for a great price & I immediately put them on hold & had Mr. Fanatic pick them up on his way home from work. I finally got around to making drapery panels this past year. When you close them, it's very dark - I know some of you like to sleep in a very dark room. (I like to keep a light on in my bathroom) I still want to make an upholstered headboard, but it is pretty far down on my list.

I found the chair on Craigslist. It had been used in a model home & we purchased it for $100!  This is where I do most of my blogging and where I am sitting right now!

I love the way the mirrored nightstands look, but you have to dust them EVERY day!!! And, don't even think about putting a glass on there without a coaster!
I had to include my perfume bottle collection that is in my master closet.
Thanks for taking the tour of my master bedroom!

Pam

  1. If you come home one day and those nightstands are gone, don't be surprised. Just sayin ;)
