Seal Beach, California

One town in California that I would like to live in (if half of the people moved out of the Los Angeles area), is Seal Beach.  It is a quaint little town that is fun to walk around in. It has a very long pier, a great family beach and some fun little shops. Our old church is just behind Main Street & about two blocks from the beach.
Visiting Seal Beach when we go back to Southern California is on the top of our list for every visit. Last week while my girls were on Spring break I flew out to Southern California with them. Sunday afternoon and evening was spent with family, but Monday morning we headed on over to Seal Beach.

It has become a tradition for us to go and have breakfast with Grandpa at the end of the pier at Ruby's diner. My girls still want to do this even though they are 16 & 17 years old.

Did I mention Seal Beach has a very long pier??? It is a very long walk to the end of the pier to go to Ruby's!

It was raining at the time we left for Ruby's, but when we were a few miles away, the rain stopped!

After breakfast we made the long trek back to civilization to do some shopping. The boutiques are very cute

Another shop that my girls request to go when we visit California is the "Shell Shop". How California is this place? Notice the beach cruisers. People were riding them everywhere. I want one...

When the girls were little I used to give them $2.00 each to spend. Choosing something used to keep them occupied & quiet for at least a half an hour!

This was just the first morning. After the "Shell Shop" we went on to visit a few more of our must visit stores in the area. But, I'll tell you about them later.

Thanks for stopping by,

  6. Hi Pam ~ I swear we must have walked right past you in Seal Beach and perhaps in the Shell Shop. My Dad's medical office used to be right next to the Irish bar. Main Street sure brings back the best of memories growing up in Southern California.

    Love ya, Tammi Anderson Traynor

  8. We've always gone to the Florida Panhandle beaches. No matter how many times we would go, the kids always wanted to go to a shell shop - ttytt, I did too! Dropping by from Outdoor Wednesday.

  12. That is a long, long pier but seems like it is worth the walk for the food at Grandpa's. Lovely area. Looks like you and your girl's had fun.

  13. Seashell Beach looks like a great place to visit. Great mural on the shell store. Glad it stopped raining before you got to Ruby's! With the long walk to Ruby's, you certainly do not have to worry about any calories consumed at breakfast!
