I finally scheduled an appointment to see the house I have been obsessing about. The one in the great location and beautiful setting...the one that is a total fixer...ok, I have seen worse.
I am going today at 12 noon. Not sure of the reason for the fascination...I think it was kicked into high gear when I stumbled upon this blog post  by Angela at  The Painted House. Angela's ranch redo is just what I've been looking for. I'll show you the after first....
And here's the before...
This is the feel I have been looking for. Kinda goes against the grain of perfect little houses all in a row here in Union County, NC. Easy to find something like this in Cotswold or Southpark, but not in Union county where everything is new... and big.

I really love the all the details especially the  turquoise door and the window boxes. Angela really did a fabulous job with her remodel.  I definitely recommend visiting her blog to see more great photos.

So, maybe something can be done with this house:
???

I  will let you know how bad it is things went...

  1. Good luck dear. I will be thinking about you at noon. I have a good feeling about this house - not that that means anything to you - but I always say women have great instincts, we just need to learn to trust them and go with them. Can't wait to hear how you made out!

  3. Can't wait to hear how it went but if anyone can "fix it up," I'm sure it would be you from what I've seen of your blog . . . everything is beautiful!

  5. Thats terrific! You'll never know unless you look. There are lots of old ranchers I would jump at to fix up here on the lake but the Mr. is not so keen on the idea. They go against the grain of all the new big homes being built here too. I totally get what you mean. Take your time looking, enjoy it and take lots of photos and share them please! I love looking at houses! Have a good day!

  6. I wish you well! It's a lot of fun looking....the moving is the not so fun part! Looks like a nice home (I still like the one on the bottom- has such an impressive approach too!) but of course I have no idea what the rest of it looks like! I need to post the home I live in- show the changes from '89 to now. Best wishes on your journey!
