New Painting Tutorial

A few weeks ago, I showed you my "new" painting.
I thought today I'd show you how I did it.

Here's what the painting looked like before... The colors in my house are changing and the red and gold will definitely not look good with them.

The first thing I did was trace the design on a large piece of paper.

Mr. Fanatic took off the frame...

Then I took a big leap and painted the whole canvas white. You can see the frame has already been painted gray and then with tan over that.

After the canvas was painted white, the white paper with the design was cut out and then the design was drawn on the white canvas. After that I painted the design black.

I ragged on  thinned out gray paint and then some tan for accents. I'm still considering whether or not to add some silver.

For now my "new" painting will be displayed in the dining room.

Hope you have a great day!

Pam

  3. I really like it how it is now without any silver. It is really neat to see how you did this. I would not have thought of doing the tracing step. It looks so good and I love how the colors look muted! So pretty!
