Painted Little Side Table

A few household projects were checked of the list this weekend here at Casa Fanatic. How about at your house?
It feels so good to get things crossed off the list, even if they aren't very exciting like cleaning out the rain gutters, changing out the flood lights and doing some fall shrub trimming.
I  managed to get a few painting projects checked off, as well.
Here's one:

I've had this odd little table for years and think I found it in my grandmother's basement. We used it in our house in California many years ago to put the phone on. The little cubby was perfect to hold a couple of phone books. You remember those things, don't you?
I almost put the little table out at our last garage sale last Spring because it's been in our basement just taking up space for 12 years now. Here's how it looked:

The top was pretty horrible. Definitely doesn't qualify as being shabby chic!

I sanded it down and gave it a coat of primer.

Here's how it looks now:

The color is actually a little greener in person. I think I need to do some hunting for a cute little crystal knob.
Can you guess what room in our house it's going to have a new home in???

Hope you had a great weekend!

Pam

Update: you can see the little table's new home HERE

  31. Very pretty in turquoise! And I do agree a crystal knob would totally make it. Home Depot online has some nice glass knobs that are well priced.
