Comfort Food

Did anyone make turkey soup with the leftover turkey from Thanksgiving?

It's so easy and tastes so good.... I'm not one for recipes, but here's what I put in my pot:

...a turkey carcass,  1/2 of an onion, 3 stalks of celery, a cup of carrots, garlic powder, salt, pepper, basil and parsley. Then simmered for 2-3 hours.

The most tedious part is taking the meat off the bones.

While I did that, I cooked up 1/2 a package of egg noodles in a separate pot.

(egg noodles have protein in them)

Serve it up with some freshly made Artisan bread and you have a delicious meal!

Comfort food: it doesn't get any better than that!

  6. I love homemade soup, so much better than canned. I made my family a pot pie out of our leftovers. I'm vegetarian but it did smell pretty tempting.

  7. I do love soup but I do not cook the turkey my SIL does. Your food photos look so good you should do this often. I feel so responsible when I post a recipe...it scares me.
