Hosting A Bridal Shower

This past Sunday, our daughter and her friend hosted a bridal shower for their friend Emily.

This was only the first second party we've had in our home since Jenny's graduation party in 2011 and the first  second event we've had in our new house. (I forgot we hosted a Christmas Party the last two years for our newly married group- how could I forget them???)

The girls planned out everything. I just helped with the decorations.

Jenny and Kitty stayed over the night before so we could set things up. Having Kitty back at our house was great and it didn't take her long to feel at home again.

On the morning of the shower, Kitty was ready for the festivities to begin.

Jenny and I went to Trader Joes for food and flowers. She picked out several bouquets and I put some together in Mason Jars and they fit perfectly in the metal container I use in my office. Some green moss finished it off nicely.

The bride wanted wood rounds for the table center pieces at her wedding, so Mr. DIY cut a tree down (he already planned to cut it down) at the Mountain Cottage  and cut the trunk into slices.

He brought several home for me and sanded them smooth with his belt sander.

For the food table, I just set some stock, pink carnations and eucalyptus branches in a white pitcher on another wood round.

I made the large white pom poms out of tissue paper.

A few games were played and then we all had dessert.
Jenny built a doughnut hole tower -which I didn't realize was behind the little Bundt cakes when I took the photos. Those bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes were sooooooo tasty and perfect for a bridal shower. More flowers in another white pitcher and some colorful little pom poms finished off the table.

I made 3 more pom poms for over the fireplace. The little pom poms were added to the burlap banner, which was purchased. I printed letters on card stock and glued them onto the banner.

The little favors were so cute and sweet. The little hearts are seed paper that you  plant. Jenny printed up the paper with the bride and groom's name on it and their wedding date.

She wrapped the favors in a bag with some tissue and tied it all up with some curly ribbon.

It was fun having a happy celebration in our home again.

What was the last party you had at your house?
Would love to know!

Everything looked beautiful and how great they even Mr. DIY got into the act by cutting those wood rounds for them!!...In answer to your question, I seems like I am always having gatherings here for one reason or another!

Lovely menu and tables, I've been wanting to stop in Nothing Bundt Cakes. The party favors with seeds are great! Very sweet and truly original! Well done!
