Christmas Master Bedroom With A $30 Tree

Last month when so many bloggers started sharing their beautiful rooms all decorated for Christmas.
I was still in the planning stages and had no idea how I was going to decorate and with what colors.
Last year was easy with  a Mad About Plaid theme.
So easy...just get lots and lots of plaid ribbon, runners, pillows and placemats.

Easy Peasy.

This year I wasn't so sure of a theme, but I knew I wanted a flocked tree. They seemed to be everywhere and looked so pretty. I found the flocked tree for the Dining Room, which turned out beautifully! If you missed it, you can see it HERE.

I really wanted a flocked tree in the Master Bedroom, but with needing to purchase of a grand tree for the Family Room and one for the Dining Room, it wasn't in the budget. It would have to wait until next year.
A few days later, I stopped by Fox Hollow Cottage. Shannon share her cute  $30  six foot tree from Walmart. I could definitely fit $30 into the Christmas budget, so I decided to order one. It came within a week and I added a couple of strings of light and some silver ornaments.  I set it in the corner of my bedroom on a basket and covered the bottom with a white faux fur tree skirt.

I couldn't resist a couple of new Snowflake pillows and a new grey bed skirt. The grey pom pom throw is so cozy and soft and perfect to curl up with on a cold, chilly day.

Some friends of ours trimmed the Leyland Cypress in their backyard and gave us some branches to decorate with. I'll tell you a good story of  a nice surprise from that evening on a later post.

I went on to find a grand, 9 foot tree for the Family Room, which I will show you next time.

Hope you have a great week!

  2. Thanks for passing along your info on the Walmart tree, it's really helpful for a lot of bloggers. Some have been asking on Instagram about finding a good, affordable tree. I may add one to our family room next year. Yours looks so pretty in your master. I also love the throw, I'm going to a mall tomorrow with a TJMaxx near it, and maybe I'll get lucky!

    Happy Holidays!

  3. What a pretty tree! Love the blue lights. This has been a big year with flocked trees hasn’t it! I added some branch inserts that are flocked but that’s as far as I went. Your bedroom is pretty!
