New faucet parts were about $350. Paint was another $100 and the frameless shower surround was installed by a company and that was $1,550.Pam - @diy Design Fanatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04303399189647950307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3977307823050840802.post-22380642016088696202016-07-21T02:56:26.895-04:002016-07-21T02:56:26.895-04:00That bathroom looks absolutely nice. We're right in the middle of a kitchen reno at our mountain cottage and we had to stop to get the house ready. We were just getting to the good stuff...countertops and backsplash. I'll be glad to get back there, but it won't be until after we have an offer on the house.
We still have a pretty good list at home, but we only have until the end of this month to finish- then staging and misc things after that.
Have fun with your ladies! Hope all goes well.Pam - @diy Design Fanatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04303399189647950307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3977307823050840802.post-6456340033524896152016-04-02T21:37:56.772-04:002016-04-02T21:37:56.772-04:00Thanks Donna! He's not a carpenter or contractor by profession, he sells soap to restaurants and hospitals!
Houses in our area need to be move-in ready and we're competing with a lot of new home nearby, which is why we're doing all the updates. Move-in ready home go fast and houses that need a bunch of little fixes linger. Our house is almost 16 years old and there's some wear and tear on it, so we're doing as much as we possibly can to make it look new/newer. We still have some things we aren't replacing and I hope that doesn't hold us back.
I've been feeling pretty good most days lately, thanks for asking. Working on the house every single day caught up with me this week and I had a couple of not so good days, but I can't complain....I'm a lot better off than I was last year!Pam - @diy Design Fanatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04303399189647950307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3977307823050840802.post-33172595982850996782016-04-02T21:36:30.534-04:002016-04-02T21:36:30.534-04:00Thanks Liz! We decided to use another shower pan because it was faster and we didn't have much time. It's a good thing because My husband came down with the flu after demo-day on the shower! He had taken a week off to do the shower and it took him several days to recover. We also chose to do a shower pan because many of the homes in our area and price point still had shower pans - many still had the old framed shower enclosures and faux marble walls, so having a tiled and frameless enclosure is only in a few homes. As to the measurement, our shower is pretty small. It's 39 deep x 37 wide. Thanks for the compliment.Pam - @diy Design Fanatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04303399189647950307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3977307823050840802.post-59768748283752957512016-04-02T20:12:07.014-04:002016-04-02T20:12:07.014-04:00Mr. DIY is pretty awesome to have around, he's...Mr. DIY is pretty awesome to have around, he's very talented. Is he a carpenter or contractor by profession? You have made so many updates before selling that I would have never thought of; like tiling the shelf under the sinks. That's one of those, 'why didn't I think of that?' Have you figured out what percentage you'll be able to increase the price by doing the minor upgrades? Not the shower, but the not-so-necessary, but nice-to-have upgrades. :) By the way, how are you feeling?
Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06854643580788448421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3977307823050840802.post-7182892246887709532016-04-02T14:05:20.799-04:002016-04-02T14:05:20.799-04:00Oh Pam this looks wonderful! We have some good friends here who just redid their entire bathroom after many years of procrastinating. But he is a free lance contractor here in the village…so of course the new room is perfect! but oh the details. Endless. We are, someday, going to work on our kitchen but for now I just can't face it! And tomorrow I am having 34 women over for my women's group: was hoping to have it renovated but no such luck!Libby https://www.blogger.com/profile/11556491482494737313noreply@blogger.com
