New Countertops and Tile Backsplash

The granite guys are coming tomorrow to template for new  kitchen countertops. Ten years ago the builder told us it would be about $10,000 to $11,000 to install granite. We thought it was way too much &  figured we would wait and find it from another company for a lot less after we moved in. Well, you know how things go ... there are a thousand other things you need to have before granite countertops, so we didn't ever get them. Several  years ago I wanted to rework the kitchen layout & get rid of the angle that the sink is on & put in an island, so this  put off  getting granite until we could do this remodel project.
I knew we would have to install granite in order to put our house on the market. Homes that are $200,000 less than mine have granite countertops! So, my kitchen won't look like this for very much longer.

Here is what we are choosing to go with our existing kitchen:

This is a photo from the internet of what the tile backsplash will look like, except we aren't doing the lower part with the rope insert & the tile below it. Mr. Fanatic will be installing the tile backsplash.

I have always wanted one BIG sink ... so this is what I chose.

Getting my kitchen countertops finished is my job this week. I will also be working on this:
Hope you all have a terrific week! Thanks for stopping by.
