Mountain Cottage Paint Colors

I think it's time to have a separate post for the paint colors at the Mountain Cottage for 2 reasons.
1. It's been a few years and it's difficult to remember.
2. It's so easy to find it in one place, instead of searching for it on a project post. r
Our Mountain Cottage is a small 966 sq feet, so keeping it light and bright was our main goal.
The previous owners hadn't painted since it was first built in the 80s, so the bedrooms and kitchen were that dull country blue that was so popular back then. The living room is still the same dingy yellow. We plan on focusing our efforts on the living room this year and next, as it's a major reno.

We started out using Benjamin Moore for the two bedroom projects because Benjamin Moore makes a great project.
The problem is that the stores that carry the Benjamin Moore paint were 45 minutes to an hour away from the mountain cottage, or we'd have to bring it up with us from a store 40 minutes from our home.
Not very convenient.

For the Kitchen we used a Sherwin Williams color for the walls, but we're now doing all the white trim in Valspar because it's a clean white, it goes on well and Lowes is only 20 minutes from the mountain cottage.

Here are the paint colors we've used at the Mountain Cottage:

Walls - Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist - Satin Finish
Trim - Valspar Ultra White - Semi-gloss finish

Next we have to choose the paint colors for the living room and foyers and I'm thinking it will be one of two whites.
We're also in the difficult process of choosing a paint color for the exterior.
Will keep you updated.

    1. Thanks Heather! I'm not sure why we waited so long to put it together! I should have at least had a draft post going and adding to it.
