Lighten It Up With Paint

Mr. DIY is still working hard on the project list and trying to get things done and I've had more luck finding things online to organize and spruce up the house.
This week I finished an little afternoon project.

We have some dark decorative accessories around the house that need lightening up. I still want a few things left with a nice dark stain, but these candlesticks were the perfect candidate for a little light paint. I took them up to the office and set them on my work table.

I know I still haven't shown you the newly painted office. I still have a few things to do in there yet, but you can see the color of the paint in this photo.

I just mixed a little Apple Barrel antique white and AB white paint together and applied 3 coats.

Then I used a sanding block to rough the candlesticks up a bit.

Perfectly imperfect finish.

Mr. DIY is currently working on finishing up the painting in the basement. Only 1 more coat.
I won't keep you waiting on that reveal...I'll be posting that hopefully by Wednesday of next week.

Have a great weekend!

  3. Great to paint things like these candlesticks to brighten any room...what is good about paint is that when you want to change the feel, it is just a matter of a few brushstrokes away! Looks great!
