Make Your Master Bath Your Sanctuary

Your Master Bathroom should be your sanctuary.
It should be pretty and functional;
A place for relaxation and a place for a little luxury.

Our Master Bath is a basic, builder Master Bath- basic tile, basic lighting, basic cabinetry, etc. We haven't done anything to it yet, but little things make it feel more luxurious.

Since Mr. DIY loves to make soap, I keep several bars in the master bathroom. The lavender and honey blend is one of my favorites. It's definitely one of my little luxuries, along with fluffy towels.

The master bathroom at our new house is larger than our last house. (I know you're probably thinking..."but didn't you downsize?) The bathtub is huge! I take baths often with either Epsom salts or Magnesium Flakes. (the links for a couple of products from Amazon are below - right after my name. I use the magnesium flakes on the left-the first one)  I sleep well after a bath in the evening when magnesium flakes are added. I keep them handy in an apothecary jar on the side of the tub.

 Candles set the mood for relaxation.

If fire is a concern, fill votives with electric candles like I have in the glass votives under the towel on the wall.

Hopefully, this side of the bathroom will be on our project list soon. New lights, mirrors and some white or grey paint on the cabinets would change things up nicely.

As for function, I keep things I use the most close at hand on a pretty tiered tray.  Sometime's I'm practically comatose in the morning and not having to walk or think about walking the extra steps to the linen closet and back to get a washcloth saves my limited morning energy.

The baskets are also filled with needed supplies. (Q-tips and cottonballs)

How are you doing at making your Master Bath your sanctuary???
Hope you have a relaxing day...

Pam

  1. Lovely retreat for you!! Please tell me about the magnesium flakes - benefits of using them, where you get them, etc. Many thanks.

    1. Thank you Kelly! The magnesium flakes I use is the first product on the left on the Amazon link above. I have chronic lyme, with symptoms similar to MS(muscle pain and tightness, etc) and I need a lot of magnesium. It helps me relax (magnesium does that!) I just fill the tub and add the suggested amount in and soak for at least 20 minutes. Just click on the link above (below my name) and it will take you to Amazon.
