Last July I told you about taking down all our family photos in the upstairs hallway when we put our house on the market. It's been a few weeks since it's been off the MLS, and I wanted to put the photos back up.
Here's what the hallway looked like before I took the photos down. The frames were gold and silver & needed a fresh coat of paint, but wasn't sure whether to paint them dark or light.
I decided to go light, since we are repainting several rooms a lighter color.
The frames were spray painted with an off white and a brown paint was put on and wiped off.
I like they way they turned out, but now I'm thinking the shelves should be painted a different color! (The hallway will be repainted a similar color, but will be a little more tan and not so yellow)
What do you think? Would love to hear your suggestions.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

And I bet you are so happy you did Pam...they are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I have something similar on some red single shelves in my garden room. But I didn't paint the frames all the same color. It does unify things for sure!

Pam, are those gold walls I see? Don't laugh, I have them in my home too!
ReplyDeleteHow neat the shelves look and your pictures are precious, Pam! I'm partial to white but my 2nd choice would be black. As long as your walls aren't white, the frames might still stand out. Can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! I love your display! I have a similar one in my hallway as well and I love seeing all my wonderful family as I walk down the hall. I love how you painted the frames too, very pretty!
ReplyDeletetotally LOVE THIS! its looks great. I really like the frames painted white too. Great job. You should come by CraftOManiac to link up to my link party going on right now. Have a great night. JEN
ReplyDeleteI love how your picture frames turned out. I'm having my own color dilemma so not sure what to say on that one.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I think that would look fabulous!!! The frames turned out beautifully and look at those sweet girls!
ReplyDeleteI am usually not a "lighter" colored person. But lighter was the way to go! Looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely treasure... its simply beautiful... Did the brown colour is also a spray paint?... great turn out Pam

Now I bet it feels like home again! This looks great! I love the new lighter color too. Very soft!
ReplyDeleteI really like this idea. It keeps it neat and keeps from having holes in the walls. You did a great job with the frames all in white with what looks like a stain on them. Maybe leave the shelves alone and just paint the walls like you said. Tones of white with antiqued white or cream look great together, so just do the walls for now.
ReplyDeletenice! what a great look!
ReplyDeleteThese shelves are great! I also love the "antiquing" you did with the additional wipe on/rub off paint!
ReplyDeleteI think the color is great--but this also might be the perfect place to try a vibrant color on those shelves--an accent in a tiny bit like that would POP and if you don't like it, you can easily change it back.
Looks great! I have a big empty wall in my living room and have been tossing around ideas of what to do with it. This would be the perfect solution! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! Is there anything a can of spray paint can't fix?!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I love this idea.
