Just wanted to drop in and let all of you know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. The last couple of weeks have been a big blur and the next several weeks are going to be crazy.
First off my youngest daughter is graduating from high school at the end of May. This means graduation announcements, planning a party, arranging for out of town guests, etc. My daughter's senior prom is also in two weeks.

My oldest daughter, who is not yet 19, flew out to California for a job interview and will start her new job on the 15th. So, this is what my house currently looks like:
Weighing all the options for moving one bedroom across country has been taxing, to say the least. As of today, we still have not finalized plans for shipping her stuff, but will do so today. We must arrange for a pickup within the next day or so in order for the items to arrive when Mr. Fanatic is in California. He is leaving with my daughter in her car on Friday morning. It takes 4 days to drive there and will have two days to get her settled. He will fly home the following Thursday so he can be home to see our youngest daughter off to her Senior prom.
Oh, did I mention my oldest daughter's car is in the shop getting some damage fixed from an accident where someone else hit her back on January 1st??? That's another long story and I've have had to fight with the other person's insurance company. It got ugly on one phone call. The car is suppose to be ready Wednesday morning.
We are trying so hard to arrange for my oldest daughter's armoire to be shipped out to California. (read the link, then you'll know why). If it's shipped separately, it will cost $500. I wanted to buy one from Ikea for less than that, but it won't fit on the side of the room where the outlet is because the roof is angled.
I have been scouring Craigslist in Los Angeles to find another one that fits in the room. (the ceiling on that side is 71"). Help!!!
Well, that's about all I have time for today. I have to get some more packing done and pick up my youngest daughter from school because she (& most of her friends) are not allowed to drive on campus for a week because they've had too many tardies! OY!!!
Some errands need to be done, phone calls to make... etc.
Ok, now I'm freaking out!
Hope you have a good day!
Pam
PS...I promise I will be back in a few weeks to visit you all & to catch up. I really have missed you!

Love your sweet heart!! Since you don't have time for the tears, I'll cry them for you, okay? While reading, I was remembering our time of last high school graduation while the oldest was making plans to "stay put" close to his college town, becoming empty nesters, and having grown-up children living away from the nest . . . yes, the tears are flowing so my heart is heavy for you at this time. Your daughters are beautiful ~ best wishes to them both as they begin new phases of their lives!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time for your family! I hope the roadtrip goes well for your daughter and husband. And I hope your daughter's new job goes well! I loved being single and right out of college in Southern California. There is so much to do! I'm guessing she'll be loving it! :)
ReplyDeleteWe're on the graduation and prom countdown too. Only 14 more school days! It's sure flown by.
Good luck with the insurance company, etc. What a pain!
Take care,
Pam
And I thought things had gotten hectic for me lately. Wow! You really are busy! Graduation year is tough, I remember it well with the first son and will be there again next year too. But then add in your oldest daughter moving across the country at such a young age..OMG! Atleast you know the area, but still. Can't believe they take away driving privledges for tardys, that's tough on the parents. We have Saturday detentions here. Best wishes that all goes well for you in the upcoming weeks. Take care!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You've been busy!! Congratulations to both of your daughters!
ReplyDeleteWOW Pam this is such an exciting time for you guys! Congrats to both of your daughters! Martina
ReplyDeleteTake care, and prayers with you. I have one in college, finishing this week, one in grad school in August and one in HS. Last year 3 graduations all in a row. But nobody moving like your situation. I know your heart is heavy and and a great mommy like you will be torn. I will pray for you. They all sound so smart and wonderful, take care..and safe travels. Congratulations for all..
ReplyDeleteCongratulations is always in order for major accomplishments.

ReplyDeleteWow, you do have your hands full. Try to enjoy the fun times and the last days you are together with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteSee you when you get back!
Congrats, to both your daughters on their achievements!
Bless your heart! It just seems like yesterday your oldest graduated! Could that have been a year ago?!? California???? When are you moving??? I know that has to be so hard for you. Hang in there. It will all work out! Sending some prayers your way!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering yesterday where you went : )
ReplyDeleteHang in there
