First Fall Vignette

The weather has been pretty gorgeous around here and I hope you are enjoying your weather, as well.
Mornings are cool; a telltale sign that Fall will be here soon.  Cooler weather has me thinking about making chicken stew again, wearing cozy sweaters and boots and of course, decorating for Fall.

This past week I was going to be up in Charlotte and stopped off at Pottery Barn because I had a gift card from last Christmas. They had so many beautiful vignettes and tablescapes; so much inspiration! I think I walked the entire store 3 times before deciding what to get.

Despite their gorgeous items, I still have trouble buying anything there, even if I did have a gift card.  Is it just me or any of you feel the same way?

I pulled together some things I already had from around the house to create a vignette in the Foyer.

The blue Ball jars are from two different antique malls, the footed silver tray was found on Ebay awhile back and the faded golden dried hydrangeas are from my neighbor's yard.  The framed sunflower art has a long time place on the dresser in the Foyer. It used to be hung in the hallway across from the Powder Room.

My antique keys look great in the tarnished footed silver tray.

I ended up getting two things from my Pottery Barn visit. One was a pillow cover, which I will show you another time; the other are the gilded acorns in the large Ball jar. (I can't believe I paid what I did for them)
After going to Pottery Barn, I stopped off at HomeGoods on the way home. LOVE that place...especially when I find something  that's expensive (somewhere else) for so much less.

There's still so much more Fall decorating to do around here, but first I have to find the decorations in the Basement, which has been in disarray lately. I should have known to put the Fall decorations up front instead of buried in the bottom in the back!

Do you have a favorite store (website, catalog, or actual store) for Fall decorating inspiration?

  2. Looks great, Pamela. I went to PB last week and could not believe how much they want for their fall decorations. I didn't buy anything.

  3. Your Fall vignette is beautiful. We are having great Fall weather too. Really puts us in the mood for Autumn.

It has to be really discounted for met to buy anything from PB.

  4. I know how you feel about Pottery Barn...it's so hard to make a decision there because everything looks so good together, yet priced so high. I at least try to get inspiration there. Homegoods is more in my budget.

Your vignette is lovely and perfect. The print really pulls it all together. I am in the same boat as you...my boxes are buried in the laundry room and I am not looking forward to bringing them up!! ;-)

  6. I also love Pottery Barn, but refuse to pay those crazy prices! I use it for inspiration. I love Home Goods, but I think my favorite is Hobby Lobby! Your vignette is so pretty and soft. I love the old keys with the fabric!

  7. Yup, PB is my weakness, too, until I see their prices! LOL. Your Fall vignette is lovely. The jars are a fun addition (love the acorns, too)! Happy Fall!

  8. This looks great! The blue mason jars bring in a little country feel and cozy it up. I love Pottery Barn but overall their look is a little different than mine. Somehow I find things there and always drool. If I had a big wallet I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them, but that isn't the case! I have scored a sale item here and there and always love them. I went to Hobby Lobby looking for a tree branch with faux leaves like their catalog shows. I couldn't find anything with the great quality of PB but I'm not willing to pay $49.50 for a branch from them! I'm going to keep looking! I have to say overall PB is my favorite for inspiration- especially at the holidays!

  9. I know what you mean about Pottery Barn. Their prices are crazy! It's still hot hot hot here but it's been raining all day & it's supposed to be cool Wed.

  11. I don't have that same problem with PB. haha!! I do try to buy on sale though. I love your fall vignette. I think I'm ready to start my fall decorating. I just have to get up in the attic and pull it all down. Today seems like a good day for it. It's raining and I just baked pumpkin muffins. Sounds good to me.

  12. Oh I love it all. I love that you used a silver tray, so pretty. I don't do PB, it is so far out of my budget. Gorgeous vignette. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
