Dining Room Lamp Makeover

I've always loved the pineapple lamps in our dining room. They look a little like artichokes, except for the leaves on top.
I painted the lamps a few years ago, but I wasn't really thrilled with the finish.

Here's what the lamps looked like when I bought them. Both the lamp and the shade were gold.

After they were painted white(over black), I didn't like the shade because they didn't create enough contrast against the grey walls.

Here's how the lamps look now.

I painted them with Apple Barrel Pewter grey craft paint with  a watered down Burnt Umber over the grey for a little depth. For the shades, I rolled on some white flat interior wall paint with a foam roller.

One of the best things about this project is that I didn't spend any money on this project as I used leftover paint I already had.

I Have to leave you with my Spring Countdown

Are you as excited about Spring as I am???

  2. I like how they turned out The shades look much more noticeable now too. It always feels good to be able to update something with no cost involved!
18 days 'til spring sounds great- I'm going to pretend it is spring here when it comes!
