Building New Workshop Doors

Last week Mr. DIY and I spent a week at the mountain cottage. Except for a couple of rainy days, the weather was perfect.

One of the projects on the list for the Mountain Cottage was replacing the Workshop door. The bottom was rotted out and the door being a barn door, allowed little creatures to get inside the shop.

It was time.
Here’s how it looked before. The J was for the previous owners last name. The single barn door was VERY heavy and difficult to open.

Mr. DIY built a new door for the crawl space door at least a year ago and we wanted it to be a coordinating design with the new double doors for the workshop.
Here’s the crawl space door.

Here are the doors pre-stain and handles…

Here are the doors after, stained Mountain Cedar stain from Olympic:workshop doors, diy doors, mountain cottage, farmhouse, shed doors
The stain should darken a bit like the crawl space door has and not be so orange in a couple of weeks or so.

This summer, the leaning bench and the wood deck will be removed to make way for a large cement slab that will make working out of the shop a lot easier.
