No more having to stack pillows 4 deep just so we don't bang our head on the angled ceiling when sitting up in bed.
The vertical shiplap wall adds a nice design feature and the vertical boards hide the fact that the boards are actually removable panels hiding a extra storage space behind.
Here's how the wall looked before. It took 4 pillows (more for Mr. DIY) so that we wouldn't hit our head on the angled ceiling. With 4 or more pillows at the head of the bed put our feet almost at the end of our queen bed.
If you look really close, you can see the removable panels.
There are separate, removable panels all across the wall. There's a removable panel to the right and left of the bed.
The panel is between the arrows.
The funny thing is, even though the wall uses up an extra foot of floor space, it doesn't make the room feel smaller.
Will be doing a "how we built it" post on the faux wall in the attic bedroom soon.
...and after:
So glad this project is finished. Now if I can ever get to making the window treatments!
I'm currently in the middle of planning and making decorations for our granddaughter's first birthday party.
Can you believe it's been a whole year already?
The whole crew is flying out for Thanksgiving and the Saturday after we'll be having a party!
Will share some pics after.
Thanks for stopping by.
Pam
