How To Make A Fabulous Jewelry Organizer

Hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day celebration and a great weekend!
A big thank you to all who entered the Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway! The lucky winner gets one stencil up to a $50 value.

Before we get to that, I wanted to share the whole project with you.
I started off with our daughter's existing cork board and Mr. Fanatic cut a piece of plywood the same size.

Then, both were painted white.

Two pieces of burlap were cut a little larger than the plywood and cork board. Then the stencil was place on the burlap and taped down so it wouldn't move. The paint was rolled on using a foam roller. I used the All Over Trellis stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils.  The paint is Valspar Nautical, which was leftover from our daughter's bookcases. You can see them here.

The burlap was wider than the stencil, so to continue the pattern, I just slid the stencil over and matched up the pattern.

Here's the finished burlap.

Once the paint dried, the burlap was attached with a staple gun.

Upholstery tacks were added every couple of inches.

Drawer pulls and knobs were attached to the plywood with screws from the back.

Here's the finished bulletin board.

Earrings are kept organized on the drawer pulls ~ bracelets and necklaces are fit nicely on the knobs.

Jewelry Organization

Hope you all had a great weekend and did something fun!
My youngest daughter has been asking me for something to organize her jewelry for quite some time now.
It's not that I haven't been thinking about it, but I just couldn't come up with the perfect set up for her.

My oldest daughter had a great set up in her armoire. If you haven't seen this post, you can see it HERE.
We set up a hair/makeup/jewelry station for her inside an armoire we found on Craigslist.
This is what the jewelry part looked like:

My daughter already had a cute ring and earring holder and wanted me to do something for her necklaces. Found these hooks at Hobby Lobby this  past week that didn't cost too much, but it was the wrong finish.

My daughter wanted her necklaces on the inside of her closet door.

I had some off white spray paint, so I painted it, then sanded off the finish on some spots. Her room is Shabby Chic style, so it would fit right in.
Here's what the inside of her closet door looks like now:

Awhile back I painted and covered her little dress form to hold one of her necklaces.

It works for now...and I didn't have to make a big production out of it. Overthinking a solution is not necessary.
Anyone else do that, or is it just me???

Hope you had a great weekend!
