A Treasure Chest

My most treasured piece of furniture is probably the teakwood chest that was passed down to me from my parents. It was a wedding gift to my parents back in 1950 from my uncle. My Uncle Leo brought it back from some of his travels.
I can remember loving this chest ever since I was a child. I loved all the carvings in the wood. It has a distinct and fragrant smell inside. I keep all the crocheted embellished linens that my grandmother made inside. I apologize for the bad lighting, I will try to replace the photo in natural light.

Here is the unusual lock that is on the hasp. The key is very unique

Here's the lock slightly open with the key below.

Here's the key inside the lock.

You might have seen the teakwood chest in my Master Bedroom post.

Do you have something that you treasure that was passed down or given to you?

Thanks for stopping by,

Pam

  13. What a gorgeous piece! My dad brought home a cabinet from Korea that had a similar lock and I remember playing with it as a little kid. There was something cool about the way it worked. Anyway, that chest is lovely and I'm glad you shared it with us.
