Winter Tablescape

Last week I polished the silver and set the table with it. This week I changed it up a little bit and used some green.

I added a green table runner for the length of the table and used napkins on either side.

I bought myself some flowers and put them in the wine bucket. I love hydrangeas and spider mums! Everyone seemed to love the ice bucket the  last time I showed it to you....Don't hate me, I have two of them ; )

Here's what's on the table:
China: Bernadaud Artois Green- Wedding gifts
Crystal: Maeve by Waterford- Wedding gifts
Cut lace tablecloth & napkins: a Goodwill find
Table runner and green napkins: HomeGoods
Crystal Candlesticks- Wedding gifts
Flatware: Wallace Grand Baroque - some handed down from my Grandmother, some gifts, some acquired
Silver Servers, Ice bucket, Center Platter, Salt and Pepper shakers, Napkin Rings were all given to me by either my mother and mother in law.

When I think about all of the above items and how I came to have them, it makes me happy. Many of them were wedding gifts, so all of those friends and family who gave Mr. F and I those gifts are represented at that table. All of the pieces that were handed down to me are special, too. As I set the table and enjoy them it brings back memories of days gone by with the loved ones who gave them to us. A few of the items I have purchased second hand and I wonder whether or not the person who owned them before me enjoyed them or just kept them in a cabinet somewhere.

Which brings me to a resolution. I am going to bring out my pretty things more often and use it for more than just holidays. Really, how difficult is it to use them? We might have to hand wash the dishes and glasses, but doing this once a week really isn't that much work, so why not?

Thanks for stopping by,

Pam

  1. Your tablescape is stunning. I love the silver and everything is displayed so beautifully. All of your silver is loverly and your china is fabulous also. I so agree, I am trying to use my silver more also, it is way too pretty to just be in the cupboard. The floral arrangement is fabulous. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty

  9. Pam, one of my favorite patterns is Bernadaud Artois. OH, it is so gorgeous! And I love your flatware and all the other elements of this table. It is just stunning.

I enjoy using my fine china and nice things, and I'm with you, I feel it's important to enjoy it due to the emotional attachments associated with the pieces. I could not agree more. I only have one silver wine cooler, and it was a gift from one of my best friend's mother. I can't look at it without smiling because she is one of my favorite people.

    Happy Tablscape Thursday...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

    P.S. Love your flowers!

  21. Yes, yes, by all means, bring out your pretty things! You are setting some gorgeous tables and giving me ideas! I am very jealous about the wine cooler, and you have two! So not fair:-) I'm trying to get one but I keep getting outbid. Love your green so much. All that crystal and sterling and china is just gorgeous, but the best thing is the sentiment attached to each thing. Enjoy!!
