Serve It Up Pretty!

I love chocolate! Can I hear an Amen? My personal motto for dessert is "If it isn't chocolate, it isn't worth the calories"! You might disagree.

My favorite chocolate dessert is from Trader Joe's. Their Chocolate Lava Cakes are so good & are for serious chocolate lovers.

All you have to do is pop them on a tray and put them in the oven until they're warm.

Top them off with a little whipped cream  or vanilla ice cream.  Then get out some nice dishes and serve them up on a pretty tray.

These are the best dessert I've ever had. They are so much better than anything you could get in a restaurant.

So good with a glass of milk ~ in an vintage "Boopie" glass.

Mmmmm, I'm making myself hungry!
What's your favorite dessert? Do you make it or have a favorite place to go?

  1. Thanks Pam, so much!! I'm successfully doing low-carb, and this fits nowhere, lol!! At least I can have chocolate, just sugar free and all the real whipped cream I want! I have never seen those, but they look really good and so easy.

  6. That is one Trader Joe's item I have not tried. I was just talking about "needing" a trip to TJ's. This looks like it is well worth the trip.

  7. My sweet tooth has been aching today and this just made it worse! :-) For the first time I'm kinda glad our closest Trader Joe's is an hour away cause otherwise I would be getting in my car to head over there!

  8. Easy and chocolate now that's a winner! These look so delicious and I love the presentation. I especially love the pretty napkin. I meant to tell you one of the antique/consignment stores I frequent has a large selection of this candlewick (I think that's what is was called) dishes. Your boopie glass! They have plates in different sizes, drinkware, cream and sugar, serving pieces the whole assortment! Are you looking for anything particular in that pattern?

  9. Pam thank you for the dessert tip. We have a nearby Trader Joe's but construction right now makes it difficult to shop there regularly. I will have to buy them for Easter holiday.Never heard about them!

  10. What in the world is Trader Joe's? Is it a grocery store chain? I don't think they have them down here in the south... Dang it! :)

  16. OMG! I believe I see Mr. Fantastic salivating on the sidebar!! Those look so good and what a wonderful way to serve dessert for a dinner party. Looks like you have been working all afternoon. Since I don't do the grocery shopping I wouldn't have seen them. Do you get them at the grocery store?
I am getting these. Thanks for sharing and they look so lovely on your tray. Love the pattern on the cloth and of course I love your boopie glasses.
One of my favorite desserts is fresh peach cobbler. I will be making it this weekend as I will have family in town for the St. Pat's parade.
We picked the peaches at an orchard this summer and put them in the freezer. Real yummy but more work than those faublous lava cakes.

  17. The cakes look so yummy, but it is your Boopie glass that caught my attention. So beautiful and unique. Makes me want to scour antique stores today instead of where I am.. Work! lol

  22. I'll be right over....I adore chocolate, but my favorite dessert is actually my Brandy Ice recipe. 6 oz. Brandy, 1 oz. Triple Sec, 1 oz. Creme de Cacao, & 1 oz. Drambuie, 1/2 gal. premium vanilla ice cream, and a good blender. Freeze at least overnight after blending ingredients...and hey!...you could easily add a couple of shots of chocolate syrup if you wanted. Take out while you're eating the main course, so they can soften enough to drink like a thick malt. So good that they are obscene. Cherry Kay

  24. Ok I am going to say that I am not human, because I rarely eat chocolate. I know everyone loves it, but to me its a okay thing. What I do love is the fact that you take it out of the original packaging and place it on serving pieces to make it such a treat to have. Whether from a box or from an oven I am a fan of presentation.
