Candles For The Patio

Last week I showed you my favorite outdoor space all spruced up. I added a drop cloth curtain, painted a side table & some pots and put together a couple of candles to create some ambiance in the evening.

It was super easy since I had all the items.... a  bag of sand, some votive sized candles (purchased awhile ago when they were marked down at HG), a Ball canning jar and a string with a plastic flower on it that was leftover from a package.
Do you save miscellaneous stuff like the string, or is it just me?

I put some sand in the jar, tied the string around the top of the jar and added the candle. Simple! ...and functional, too!
I love little projects like this, don't you?

Pam

p.s. If you'd like to make this project, but don't have any canning jars, they are available at Walmart, Kmart and probably at your local grocery store right now or just use a jar you already have!

  1. Yes I love easy projects like this! Show me more! LOL! I also save those cute strings and ties especially when they have something attached. I just don't have any jars though, really need to get some of those. Great inspirations Pam!

  3. Hi Pam, you little light will come in handy a lot over the summer I'm sure. Looking at the side bar, I see that your home is gorgeous. I don't envy you having to pick paint color, I find it so hard.

  7. Ok, this one made me giggle because I cut the handles off an Anthropologie bag just the other day. They were such a pretty gray ribbon that I had to keep them! Now I'm off to check out your porch post. Missed it last week.

  9. Love what you're doing on the porch. And, yes, I do save odd things. I call it re-cycling. Confession- this is bad, but PB gift-wrapped a wedding gift for me and tied an adorable key to the ribbon. I could just see the young wedding couple throwing away all the wrappings and that key, so I removed it before I gave it to them. It wasn't necessary and wasn't part of the gift. Am I rationlizing? Happy 4th! Linda
