Take It Off The List

Both my husband and daughter had requested an ottoman for  the chair in our Master Bedroom. We watch tv in there almost every evening in the winter  and I blog in this chair, as well.

I would love to have an ottoman for my comfy chair.
The problem is, they are VERY pricey at several hundred dollars and definitely not in the budget!
With buying an ottoman out of the question, making one was put on the project list.
Problem is...it's way down on the list!

Well, last week, Susan from Between Naps On The Porch blogged about her search for an ottoman for her newly redecorated office. She found one at for a great price at World Market. I immediately went online and  ordered one that day and couldn't wait to get it. The best part about it was that the ottoman was on sale!
The box arrived and I immediately set the ottoman up in the Foyer.

Here the ottoman is all set up in our bedroom. It's perfect.

Here's Before...

...and, After:

The slipcovered ottoman was only $30 on sale. The slipcover is sold separately and comes in several colors. It was on sale for $39. I was only going to get the ottoman, since I could sew one, but again, it would be way down on the project list.
Thanks to Susan, making an ottoman for our Master Bedroom is now off the project list! Yay!

  2. Great score! That looks like a nice sized ottoman for that cost too. Trust me,you are never going to be able to get out of that chair now, with your laptop and an ottoman. LOL! I couldn't live w/out my ottomans. Lazy me!

  3. Getting your feet up is very important to promote venous return. I have various foot stools all over the place Pam and the cat and I fight over them. Very good buy. You can only have so many projects.

  6. I've been in the market for an ottoman, but a long one for the end of our bed! Yes, they can get quite pricey. Found one at Target for $119 and now will recover in fabric I've had for years and years! Yours is just perfect, and oh so necessary for a comfy armchair!

  9. I've recently switched two pieces of furniture around in my bedroom. My goal is to have a comfortable chair and ottman also to sit in to read my magazines and books in, plus work at decluttering paper clutter, plus filing what needs to be filed away. I switched a night stand and lamp with a chest of drawers. Still not happy with the chest of drawers there, but until I convince DH to get rid of the Sauder TV armoire, the chest of drawers will have to stay where it is. I'm working on it. I needed more light to read by so now the 4 poster bed looks balance with a night stand and lamp on each side. I figured I could put a comfortable chair and ottman in front of the night stand..on opposite side of where I get in/out of my bed. That's a great bargain for that ottman and you can cover it to match your chair if you wanted to..I love that mirrored night stands, they are beautiful! There's a World Market store up in same shopping center as Walmart, 15 miles away. Or at least I think it's still there! Need to get the comfy chair first and worry about the ottman later. I could take one of my wing back chairs and move it in there and buy the ottman.

  16. Good for you finishing a list item! Love your chair and ottoman! I looked for just the right chair ottoman combo for years and finally landed them 2 yrs ago....I have 2 chairs w/matching ottomans in my LR and hardly every leave them (in one of them now)! Be careful a good chair and ottoman can be fattening! Thanks for sharing.
