Back From Hollywood

How have you all been???

I'm finally back from my trip to Hollywood. It was a long and exhausting trip.  Didn't have much time to have fun, because there was so much to do. To make the time constraints worse, my daughter came down with a 24 hour stomach flu a few days after I got there and I came down with it on Sunday, which was the day that I was going to get together with my family to celebrate my birthday. I was very sad about that, since we hadn't seen each other in two years. I drove down to stay with  my dad for the weekend because the Academy Awards shut down everything around my daughter's apartment. On Saturday night I  went to see a friend and came down with the flu on Sunday morning and spent the day in bed. So much for my visit with my dad.

My time in SoCal helping my daughter get settled in her apartment went by far too quickly. There wasn't enough time to get everything done that we wanted to, but we did get a lot accomplished.
Last month after my flight was booked I realized that the Academy Awards smack dab in the middle of my trip, which made things a little more difficult in getting around. Remind me never to do that again!

Hollywood Blvd had been closed off for a week, making traffic even heavier around this area. My daughter's apartment is one block away from here.

All of this was set up in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. Several streets were closed down the week before the Oscars and several square blocks were closed down on Sunday. Security was everywhere 24 hours a day.

Hollywood Blvd. was open and all the signs changed the day after the Awards. It was an amazing feat, to say the least.

The Starbuck's I frequented is just beyond this arched monument.

So pretty at night...

This photo was taken about 11 pm the night before I left for home. Can you tell how tired I am? It was a long and tiring trip.

Will show you some photos of her apartment tomorrow. Hope you'll stop by...
