You might think this is the same tablescape that was posted last week...
It is, with a little change.
The table posted last week was set several days before Easter. Of course, nobody sat at it...one of the reasons why I don't usually keep the table fully set.
Here's a reminder of what the Easter week table looked like:
After Easter I went to HomeGoods and came home with these beautiful blue and white dishes. When I first laid eyes on them I knew they were coming home with me.
Lucky I still had a gift card given to me by my youngest daughter for Christmas.
HomeGoods had dinner plates, bowls and mugs in this lovely pattern. I would have loved to buy them all, but I'm not sure I would ever use them . Who uses all matching dishes these days anyway?
I only have a few full sets of dishes...I use white china for the dinner plate and just buy salad plates for contrast and variety. It's so much cheaper that way...These salad plates were only $3.99 each.
This past week we were going to have a frost so my geraniums had to be brought inside.
I just never get tired of looking at those geraniums. They seem to be glowing with the light coming in.
I would encourage you to set a pretty table today using what you have and maybe a few new things, as well. Let me know if you have any luck getting people to sit at your lovely table!

Very pretty, Pam. I'm a fan of using white dinner plates and then adding color and details with a special salad plate and the chargers. Love these toile plates.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table, Pam. I love those square plates. I definitely "need" a trip to HomeGoods.
ReplyDeleteYour new plates are just as pretty as can be!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful day!

Your tablescape is beautiful. I used the same dinnerware for my tablescape this week.
ReplyDeleteI always try to resist buying an entire set of dishes now, with the exception of white, which I never regret. I try to have real meals at the table, where we can relax and talk and have each other's full attention. Linda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful salad plates, Pam! I saw those at our local store, but I have been duly warned about bringing anything new into this house for awhile. Message received, and the dishes stayed there...for now! :-) I rarely buy complete sets of casual dishes anymore, either. I prefer to mix and match. With fine china, though, I feel almost obligated to buy all the dining pieces. I don't worry with the hostess sets and other peripheral stuff, but I go in for the dinner, salad & bread plates, bowls, cups & saucers. I'm old...stuck in my ways! :-) You didn't mention where the vase with the daisies hails from, and it is really pretty! I like the imprint.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Well done!

What a pretty table! I love your new dishes. Isn't Home Goods wonderful? I agree, white plates are so versatile and easy to add colorful touches here and there. I am fond of geraniums too. I live in a warm climate and mine are so happy spring is here!
ReplyDeleteHey Alycia, turn off your no reply blogger in your settings and add your email so we can email you directly :) The glass vase is from HomeGoods, as well.
ReplyDeletePretty new dishes and it changes the whole look. Even though I have lots of dishes and glassware I prefer to use white dishes and clear glasses for "real" tables! I agree with not buying full sets and who has the room to store?

Ha! I have the same troubles getting family to sit together now days too. Hoping they'll like this one. I love your new pretty blue dishes. They have a great pattern. Your geraniums look like they fit just perfectly there in your breakfast nook too. Very pretty tablescape!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty plates you found at Home Goods. The blue and white with the bird is very sweet. It is lovely to see your flowers at the windows!
ReplyDeletePam
Pam, I love those and probably would have bought them, too.
ReplyDeleteThese plates are wonderful...very pretty! I like small patterns and recently have found that I just can't find what I am looking for. I love that your flowers are still doing so well!

Pam your blue and white salad plates are so awesome. You could not tell if the are transferware antique or not.
ReplyDeleteLove the changes Pam. I however, can't stop noticing the pretty planter in the back ground. That just makes me smile and adds so much charm.
ReplyDeletePam, love love your new plates!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the changes. How fabulous. Love the new blue plates and I agree, those geraniums are so pretty. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a blue person, but these dishes are beautiful..that pattern is just gorgeous! I agree...having white dinnermplates and a variety of salad plates is great and makes for lots of options. I like the shape of your new plates too!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!

I love love that design! I have had a hankering for blue lately and it hasn't been a color I've included in a long time...I guess I'm evolving! I agree with buying salad plates as a way of adding a mix of design to a table setting! It's smart vs. buying a whole matching set.
ReplyDeleteYour table looks great and I don't blame you for keeping it set!
I put a nice tablecloth on my everyday kitchen table and it makes me happy to look at it! I think we should use these linens more often instead of preserving them! I just need someone to iron them for me!
Your table looks lovely as always.. sometimes we have to tweek things and you have tweeked just right!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table and love the new blue pieces you added to the table. I love to just keep making little changes to my tablescapes.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate those detailed photos of your gorgeous tablescape.. Stunning! You wowed me a lot! All of your dishes are fabulous and I love everything you’ve done. Everything is set to perfection! Awesome!
