Flowers For The Garden

Went to Lowe's the other day and picked up some pretty new additions for my garden with a gift card given to me by my youngest daughter for Mother's Day.

As I was deciding where the new flowers would go, a new friend  joined me in the garden. He wasn't too thrilled to see me, even when I brought him some lettuce.

I can't remember the name of the taller pink flower, but the other beauties are lantana, coreopsis and purple coneflower. They all like a sunny spot and hopefully they will like their new home. These flowers don't need a lot of watering once they get established. The lantana didn't even droop a little after being transplanted and  being in the sun. As an added plus, lantana and coneflowers attract butterflies.

I never get tired of looking at gorgeous trees....

or pretty flowers.

It's suppose to be 100 degrees again today. Really, it's only suppose to be 91, but it felt like 100 yesterday! What a way to start off Summer. We were having such nice weather last week and weekend....I would definitely love more of that weather.

Hope you are staying cool.

Pam

  1. You have such a beautiful backyard Pam. I love how parklike it is. We were having super hot, humid days this week but now that the heat has passed I can't wait to plant some flowers too. Love the tall pink ones you chose, they have such an interesting shape.

  2. Uggh, it's hot here too!! Hoping for some relief today. Great new flowers for your garden. My mom got me hooked on lantana..they do great in the dry months of summer (I'm not always good w/ watering). I love lots of coneflowers too..they really spread!

I finally got my whole grad party post up, if you want to check it out. :)

  7. I love that lantana! I need to see if it does well up here. The colors on it are so pretty! It was 95 here the other day. Everyone was just miserable, but there wasn't much humidity so I thought it was great! They all looked at me like I was crazy! Ha!

  9. I love those tall pink flowers. It looks as if someone did "He loves me, he loves me not.." but skipped the He loves me not petals...
Its really hot here too. All of my plants go into droop phaze during the hottest hours. If they had tongues, I am sure they would be hanging out...

  10. Really pretty Pam. I was just at Lowe's this afternoon, about to start in the garden dept., when my cell rang with yet another emergency re. my Mother... so I'll have to go back this week. It was SO hot in the garden (the sunny one) by 8 AM today that I couldn't stand it out there! Went to sit in the shade and read the paper instead... stay cool this week!
