My neighbors must have thought I had gone crazy too.
You see, Nate (the hurricane) pushed up some very humid air up from the Gulf and interrupted our warm, wonderful weather with cool nights that we had been enjoying for several weeks.
I mean, who in their right mind would put a throw blanket with a bunch of pillows in the middle of 80 degree weather with 80-90% humidity?
Seriously.
I was sweating as I set out everything out.
Ah, but I persisted.
And even though I felt silly fluffy pillows and setting the throw just so, I continued to taking photos as cars drove past my house.
I didn't even turn around and wave as many in our neighborhood do... I just pretended I didn't hear or see them.
Oh, don't tell me you don't do the same thing when you're outside or at the grocery store when you didn't put your make up on. I can't be the only one.
Anyway, it's going to get cool here sooner or later and my porch will be ready for the cool evenings of Fall.
My friend in Denver Facebook messaged me and said it was snowing there. Wouldn't that be awesome! I would love it if some of that came our way! I would enjoy a 20 degree day in the middle of all this humidity.
Back to the porch...
I think your porch looks fantastic, Pam! If I had one this big, I would be going to town! I have to get some pics of mine, but it's not that spectacular. We have a typical city walkup.
ReplyDeleteI love the throw. My daughter used a plaid flannel scarf to drape over a chair on her porch as she didn't want to damage a nice one with our rain and nasty weather.
I feel the same way you do in a lot of instances when I do something in my yard or to my house. Before our redo of the landscaping, I had ivy growing right over some of our windows. I wonder what our neighbors thought, especially next door, as my neighbor is so meticulous, she will rake if there are 3 leaves on her lawn. I just had to give up that mentality. To be honest, Pam, maybe people who drove by your home (and admired your work), felt they were a little lax on getting moving with some fall decor. Maybe you inspired them! Be proud of your work. And with our whacky weather, you may have temps in the fifties next week!

Oh so very beautiful Pam! Hey, I fully understand the warm and humid thing...we had some cooler days and then comes the remnants of the hurricane with warmth and humidity....I had dressed the porch for Fall a while ago and had to refresh my porch again....Also, my niece lives in Colorado near Evergreen and they had a foot of snow the other day...crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteI love how it looks. I can’t put out any fabric items because I don’t have a protected area. I do the same thing when I’m outside taking a picture - at that moment I always feel so conspicuous so I just pretend I’m invisible! LOL
