Welcome friends!
Do you have a favorite spot in your house, but in the Summer it's a little warm in the late afternoon?
Well, that's our Screened Porch.
Now that's the weather is cooler, it's a lovely space to sit and enjoy any time of day - it's even perfect in the late afternoon.
I ordered a few things and pulled some other things from here and there and decorated the Screened Porch for Fall.
I loved the buffalo check pillows so much on the Front Porch and in the Family Room, I ordered 4 more from Amazon (link is below).
The Screened Porch is a nice place for Mr. DIY and I to have dinner in the evening.
Even though it rained overnight and is still a little grey today, some ferns, mums and a pumpkin cheer things up.
I have a little secret I'm trying to cover up with all the foliage; can you guess what it is?
Awhile back we bought a little tabletop Cuisinart grill and that's what's hiding under the black cover you can see through the ferns. The fern on the right is blocking the propane tank. Mr. DIY plans to build a cabinet to hold it, but for now, it's hiding behind some ferns. I just take it out and set it on the table when I cook. (It's a very small grill)
My mom's white rocking chair is a nice place to sit and enjoy the changing landscape.
See that dark cabinet along the wall? It holds Buddy's (my cat) litter box and all his supplies.
He spends most of his time on the porch and on sometimes on nice evenings he'll spend the night outside.
On cooler days, Buddy spends a lot of time sleeping in his Cat Cave. When the weather turns cold, I set an outdoor heating pad in his cubby so he stays warm, even on the coldest days. If you missed the post on how Mr. DIY built Buddy's Cat Cave Side Table, you can find it HERE. You can also find how I made the Lighted Grapevine Orb HERE.
Buddy (cat's in general) always perk up as the sun starts to set.
The string lights really light up the space when the sun goes down.
Thanks for stopping by!

What a gorgeous space! I've always wanted a screened in porch. I love seeing Buddy in his cat cave too!! I ordered the pillow covers! You convinced me! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. Screen porches are great ! - no bugs- a few get through, but 99.9% don't. It's more like an outdoor room than a deck is.
DeleteYou'll love the pillow covers -they're nice.
Lovely as usual. I love screened porches.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda! Screened porches are great, especially when you live in the South or anywhere there are lots of bugs in the summer!
