That's why I was so excited when HomeRight said they were going to send me a SteamMachine Plus to review.
I was definitely the person for the job since I've had a couple of steamers before this one. The first steamer I owned had a really loud vacuum cleaner, as well as a steamer, but the steamer part broke, so I found an inexpensive, lightweight, upright steamer, which was a little flimsy and takes forever to heat up.
The SteamMachine Plus is super simple and easy to use.
You can pop off the water reservoir, fill it up with tap water, pop it back on, plug the SteamMachine in and push the on button in about as long as it took you to read this paragraph.
Then, in 30 seconds (no lie) it's ready to use.
The indicator light is red after you push the button, then turns to blue when it's ready.
In case you're wondering why the reservoir is so low in the photo on the right, it's because I took this photo after cleaning the kitchen and laundry room floors, then unplugging it and using it in the master bath.
Here are the accessories that come with the SteamMachine Plus (you actually get two large, washable microfiber mop pads)
You can't see it in the photo, but the steam is awesome! My other steamers just started steaming once the water was heated up. (because of this, I couldn't leave them sitting on the hardwood for any length of time) The SteamMachine Plus only puts out steam only when you're ready with a squeeze of the button on the handle. And, the steam really comes out great!
The amount of steam can be adjusted by the dial on the front.
If you want to freshen up some rugs, the SteamMachine can be set on the carpet glider attachment.
I can't tell you how easy and fast it is to freshen up the rugs. If you have pets or kids and have rugs that can't be thrown in the wash, then the SteamMachine is the way to go!
I even freshened up the carpet in my bedroom.
The steamer is detachable for cleaning just about everything all around the house.
The detachable steamer is going to save me so much time doing laundry. Why?
Because I seem to always be doing something else when the dryer goes off.... and the clothes sit and get wrinkled...then I have to get out my spray bottle, wet down the whole piece of clothing, stretch it a little bit, then wait 2 hours for it to dry.
Ha! No More!!!
I gave the left side a couple of passes with the SteamMachine Plus...What a difference in a short amount of time. The shirt dries in no time and then can be put away (without waiting 2 hours to dry)
Here's another shirt. Yes, I know, my bad.
Here's what's included in the box:
- Detachable Steamer
- Steamer Frame
- Mop Head
- Carpet Glider
- (2) Microfiber Mop Pads
- Squeegee/Fabric Steamer
- Cotton Bonnet for Squeegee/Fabric Steamer
- Small Nylon Brush
- Large Nylon Brush
- Angled Jet Nozzle
- Grout Brush
- Scraper
- Straight Adaptor
- Measuring Cup
- 205 degree F steam
- 20 Minute Run Time
- Heats Up in 30 Seconds
- 12 Ounce Water Tank
- 1500 Watts
- 120 Volts
- 16 Foot Cord
- UL Safety Listed
Just to be totally truthful here, the only thing that took some getting used to was the swivel mop head. Both my other steamers could only go back and forth and were rectangular. The SteamMachine Plus swivels, which allows you to get in tighter spots and into corners better.

What would you use it to clean?

Thank you for the review. I have been wanting a steam mop and have been eyeing the Shark steam mop but still wasn't sure what to get. I like all of the attachments and that the steamer is detachable and can be used for other uses. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI've also wanted a clothes steamer but couldn't justify the cost either. It looks like you had to lift the the steamer head above the handle in order to steam the shirt? I'm assuming water didn't leak out? If it can do carpets, tile & clothes then I think you've got a winner.
ReplyDeleteThe water reservoir has a rubber gasket around a knob that you twist off to fill it.
DeleteYou are correct that the steamer is lifted or turned upside down when steaming. Because of the gasket, the water doesn't leak out.
Thank you.
